Coronado, Costa Rica
Coronado is 6 miles northeast of San José and is located on the southern end of Braulio Carrillo National Park. It is a rural region containing coffee plantation, dairy farms and its mountains provide perfect hiking and strenuous biking activities. Coronado houses the Interamerican Institute for Agriculture, the Costan Rican Olympic Committee and a very famous snake research center. Juxtaposed with the agricultural scene is a gothic influenced cathedral, many cafés, restaurants, markets and a lively cultural scene. Coronado is safe and very friendly and public transportation runs between Coronado and San José every twenty minutes.
